Whether you’re beating the city traffic or looking to get an extra day of turns in, everyone likes to be first on the slopes. For those who are lucky (/unlucky) enough to spend their days in online meetings, a world of first tracks awaits you just outside your new office—the resort base lodge.
Online meetings (Zoom, Google, Teams) only require a laptop and internet connection--but that can be tricky when you’re in the mountains in an already-rural state. Fortunately, Ski Vermont has you covered.
We’ve traveled across the state scouting work locations—and internet speeds—for the career turn-maker with an office work hobby. If you’re looking for a way to pack more turns into your ski season, check out the best places to post up for some keyboard-clacking between tracks.
A short drive from Burlington and offering one of the best night skiing programs in the state, Bolton Valley Resort offers free internet with more than enough speed for a work meeting. BV's cafeteria has a number of out-of-the way tables as well as other nooks around the building if things get busy. Working lunch? Check out the James Moore Tavern--not a place to post up all day, but perfect for a meet-while-you-eat call if you're not presenting.
Sneak away to the quiet, cozy top floor of the lodge featuring the 'long' table with its glorious number of outlets. Even better is the cubby storage right behind you, offering a convenient space to stash your gear for sign-on. Bromley staff reports that its pretty quiet, especially mid-week, and that guests are welcome to work in any quiet corner they like.
Pro tip: the cafe is actually closed midweek, so good luck finding a quieter workspace than that. Jay boasts strong internet speeds in their base lodges and their snow reporter told us they've posted updates while riding the Tram (a fun option, but not one for the quarterly earnings call).
With every window at Burke facing something beautifully distracting, the hardest part will be to focus. If you can ignore panoramic views of Willoughby Gap and East Burke and focus up, it's possible to be off your call and to the lift in 3 minutes flat. Be warned: the internet is fast (up to 500Mbps) so forget about claiming connectivity problems if you get caught daydreaming.
It's hard to beat the view (or convenience) of Killington's K1 lodge--it's right off the gondola with food, restrooms, and adult beverages just a few paces away.
The gentleman in the photo (taken January 2026) agrees. If it's good enough for a dual monitor setup, odds are your work call is going to be just fine.
Quiet, lined with outlets AND an incredible view? This place was made to be a remote office. Top seating is unofficially referred to as the “WFH parent table” where guardians of tiny powder hounds can answer emails and keep one eye on the base area for kids’ returns from the trail. Ample tables and quiet nooks make for one more reason to Ski It If You Can.

Not everything at Magic is old-school, especially when it comes to internet speeds. We were there in the off-season; during the season they've reported lunacy-level speeds for public wifi at up to 2Gbps. We haven't confirmed that...yet...but even half that will let you stream in 4k while gaming and listening to Spotify as you upload and download massive decks for fun. We don't recommend you do those things, but you could.
Even better is the location: the Black Line Tavern. Tons of tables, great food and beer selection--and the possibility of the Magic crew tossing up a green-sheet-greenscreen in the corner of the bar to really bump up your professionalism. Add in close proximity to the southern border and you'll be asking to go full-remote at your job.
Of course a college-adjacent ski area (don't worry, everyone can ski here) would be a perfect place to pop open a laptop between runs. With a range of seating and more than enough wifi strength for pretty much anything on a laptop, you'd almost overlook the area's other secret weapon: night skiing.
Work between runs? Check. Work mornings and grab a half-day PM ticket? Check. Work the afternoon and ski/ride in the evening? Check. Stop by for an evening leg-stretch on your drive to a mountain up north? CHECK. C'mon Middlebury, now you're just showing off.
It might be hard to hide the sunlight bouncing off the snow through their phenomenal wall of windows, but Saskadena Six's base lodge offers such close proximity to the slope you can practically slide to your table—making checking email a breeze.
One of the unexpected pleasures of a ski trip to Pomfret, VT is the cell reception--or lack thereof--so be prepared to make regular check-ins from the command post as you phone will be gloriously silent (for Verizon users, anyway). Whether you're grabbing solo turns or skiing with kids between meetings, it's a prime perch between runs.
And sure our photo is of a family eating, but do you see those windows?
Sugarbush's Lincoln Peak skiers and riders need look no further than Gate House Cafeteria with its solid internet speeds, ample seating, and ability to ski in the back door. Even during at noon on a powder-packed Thursday we got download speeds of 166Mbps.
At Mt. Ellen (just a legendary lift ride away on the Slidebrook Express) the lodge has plenty of spots both upstairs and down to post up and work, especially midweek.
Other options: The Sugarbush Reserve program gives you access to The Fifty 8 lounge Thursday-Sunday in Valley House.
Look no further than the pizzeria for a place to park it between laps on Morse Mountain. Village Pizzeria is located in the same building as the Ben and Jerry's Scoop shop and offers several out-of-the-way spaces on the same network when times get busy. It's even possible to tap into the network from outside the building, so a fireside meeting isn't out of the question if you've brought fingerless gloves.
We may not have official speeds or a photo, but we asked around and got some intel on the following: we'll confirm when we get boots on the ground.
Despite unconfirmed speeds the cafeteria at Carinthia offers the exact kind of in-and-out workspace we've been seeking with this project. We'll update as soon as we have connectivity confirmation.
While we haven't confirmed the official internet speeds at Stowe, we've got enough anecdotal evidence (and have spend enough time in the lodges) to feel comfortable relaying these options. Seems a perfect justification for a field trip from the Ski Vermont offices.
