Wild Wings Ski Touring Center in Peru, Vermont operates out of a converted horse barn, with a rental shop and warming room stocked with classic ski rentals in a full range of sizes, from children's to adult, plus snowshoes and pulk sleds for younger kids. The trail system covers 25 kilometers, with 10 kilometers featuring skate lanes, and all trails run one-way to keep things moving smoothly and give skiers a sense of space on the snow.
Terrain is organized by difficulty: beginner trails wind through gentle rolling terrain past forests, brooks, and beaver ponds; intermediate trails add more elevation change; and expert trails bring steeper descents requiring solid turning and snowplow technique. Simple loop layouts mean skiers can focus on the skiing rather than the map.
Dogs are not permitted on the trails.
