The Carroll and Jane Rikert Outdoor Center, which is owned and operated by Middlebury College, is located 12 miles east of Middlebury on Route 125 just 2 miles west of the Middlebury College Snow Bowl. Situated on the Breadloaf Campus of Middlebury College and bordering the Green Mountain National Forest and the Robert Frost Homestead.
The Rikert Outdoor Center offers over 55 kilometers of varied and scenic trails for cross-country skiers, snowshoers, and snow bikers of all abilities.
Rental equipment, repairs, and waxing rooms are available in the Center’s Ski Shop where one can also find snacks to enjoy by the cozy woodstove.
A fulltime staff of PSIA certified instructors offers both private and group lessons. So whether you’re a novice out for a scenic tour or an expert racer putting in some hard training K’s, Rikert Outdoor Center offers the variety and challenge that will satisfy all levels of nordic enthusiasts alike.
