Vermont is home to more craft breweries per capita than any other state, and our ski areas turn that into some of the best fall festivals in New England. From base-area brewfests to full Oktoberfest weekends, here's where to raise a glass against a backdrop of peak foliage this season. Bolton Valley's Fall Fest Weekends run every weekend from late September through mid-October, each with its own theme. Ride the chairlift for foliage views, then head to the base for live music, food and drinks, and Vermont craft vendors. Some weekends lean into Oktoberfest, others into apple cider and maple treats or Halloween activities for families, with hiking and mountain biking trails open the whole stretch.
New England's finest craft beer, cider, and locally roasted coffee come together at the Stateside Base Lodge, with live music from Medicine Tribe and the Lara Cwass Band running noon to 6pm. Admission includes a commemorative glass and ten sampling tickets. This is a 21+ event — no dogs or kids.
One of Killington's most iconic annual events, Brewfest returns to the Pico Mountain Base Area for its 30th year with roughly 40 regional breweries, cideries, and seltzer makers, live music, and a vendor village set against peak fall foliage. Activities for the whole family! General admission is $75 through August 31 ($86 after); VIP is $99. Children 15 and under are free with a ticket.
Billed as "the best little beer fest in Vermont," SIPtemberfest keeps things small and easygoing — around two dozen brewers, mostly Vermont-based, with short lines and a relaxed, cozy vibe on the slopes of Mad River Glen. Runs 1–5pm.
Free admission across two Saturdays, with base-area hangouts like Cuzzins, Station Tap Room, and 1900' Burger transformed into German-style bier halls. Beer tickets are purchased on-site; runs 11am–5pm.
Stratton's annual Brewfest brings craft ales, lagers, ciders, and more to the Base Area with live music on the outdoor stage, plus an optional Chili Cook-Off add-on featuring Stratton's own chefs. Runs 11:30am–5:30pm, doors at 11am, last pour at 5pm.
Bavarian eats, local brews, and live oompah music take over the Lincoln Peak base area, with a Steinholding competition at 1pm and a Keg Toss competition at 2pm at the Gate House Lift.
Two five-hour sessions at the von Trapp Brewing Bierhall feature the Inseldudler Band, Trachten contests, cask tapping, and Steinholding competitions. Adult tickets include a beer, a souvenir mug, an appetizer, and an entrée; non-alcoholic options are available for students and youth.
