Bolton Valley's 100 kilometers of Nordic and backcountry trails sit high in the Green Mountains, surrounded by more than 5,000 acres of terrain and averaging 312 inches of snow each season. The trail network covers all ability levels, from groomed Nordic tracks through the woods to backcountry routes accessing the high peaks.
The backcountry program is what sets Bolton apart from other guiding operations in the East. Every private guided tour and lesson includes two one-ride lift tickets, giving backcountry skiers and riders immediate access to the upper mountain without the long skin to the top. Parents can drop kids at ski school on-site while they head out with a guide through the access gates at the top of the chairlift or from the trails accessed from the base area.
Being part of a full-service alpine resort means Nordic and backcountry visitors have access to the same lodging, dining, and amenities as alpine guests, including pools, arcade, indoor golf, and more at Ralph's Rec Center.
