Mountain Top Resort has operated its Nordic Center in Chittenden since 1964, making it one of Vermont's longest-running Nordic centers. The trail network covers 60 kilometers, with grooming maintained for both classic and skate skiing, a 2-kilometer snowmaking loop, and terrain suited to all ability levels. Some trails are dog-friendly. Trail passes are complimentary for overnight guests, and rentals, lessons, and ski-and-stay packages are available through the Activities Center.
Winter activities beyond skiing include horse-drawn sleigh rides, snowshoeing on the full trail network, outdoor ice skating, and access to the VAST snowmobile trail system directly from the resort. A sledding hill is available exclusively for overnight guests.
Summer centers on the 740-acre Chittenden Reservoir, with kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, pontoon boat rides, fishing, and a private beach on the property. Additional warm-weather offerings include horseback riding, a Tiki boat ride, disc golf, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, clay bird shooting lessons, and a heated outdoor pool. The hot tub is open year-round for overnight guests.
The Mountain Top Restaurant is located in the main lodge at Mountain Top Resort (adjacent to the Mountain Top Tavern). With modern mountain decor, a cozy fireplace and an expanse of windows looking out on the surrounding mountains and 740 acre lake - the atmosphere and views can't be beat. In the summer, enjoy dining on the terrace. Our Chef prepared menu is inspired by our local surroundings and changes seasonally. Reservations are recommended on weekends.
