Vermont Stay to Stay Ski Weekend Garners National Attention Via Radio Spot

The latest Stay to Stay Ski Weekend takes place this weekend at Mount Snow Resort and Bromley Mountain.

A Vermont program aimed at using skiing and snowboarding to help attract potential new residents to the state garnered some high-level attention this week.

Robin Young, the host of Here and Now on National Public Radio, interviewed Wendy Knight, Vermont's tourism and marketing department commissioner, and new Vermont resident Nicole Smyth, who relocated from Denver, about the Stay to Stay Ski Weekend.

The program's latest event takes place this weekend at Mount Snow Resort and Bromley Mountain, and features a day of skiing and riding followed by a welcome reception "designed to connect people who are interested in moving to Vermont with those in the community who can help them relocate," according to Knight.

On the following Monday morning, guests can "meet with employers that are hiring, take a driving or walking tour with a realtor, or visit an incubator or co-maker space to meet with entrepreneurs and other professionals," according to the Vermont Department of Tourism and marketing's webpage for the program.

The NPR segment can be heard here.
