April Events and Deals at Vermont Ski and Snowboard Resort

Spring skiing and riding means sunny afternoons and apres outdoors!

As the days get longer and the skies get sunnier, skier and riders can spend the last turns of the season in true Vermont style with t-shirts and goggle tans, pond skimming, mogul competitions, and outdoor après celebrations. To top it all off, resorts make April even sweeter with end of season deals and early bird passes to keep the excitement flowing until next season.

Events

April 1, 2017 – 38th Annual Beach Party at Jay Peak Resort
This year's Beach Party will be one for the books as Jay Peak celebrates thirty-eight years of fun in the sun, or fun in the snow, in their case. Join them for live music by the High Breaks, games, Landshark giveaways, Jay Peak logo'd Cape Cod Beach Chair raffle and enough waterslides to entertain any child, big or small.

April 1, 2017 – Hops On The Snow at Okemo Mountain Resort
This one-day beer festival, located in the Jackson Gore Courtyard, will feature new seasonal beers and cider. Enjoy beautiful spring conditions on the mountain in the morning, then quench your thirst by sampling some brews in the afternoon.

April 1, 2017 – Gelandesprung and Closing Party at Mt. Ellen at Sugarbush Resort
Compete in a long-jump contest at Mt. Ellen with prizes and celebrate the final weekend at the mountain in the Green Mountain Lounge.

April 1, 2017 – Third Annual New England Pond Skim Championships at Stowe Mountain Resort
Join Stowe Mountain Resort for their Third Annual Pond Skim Championship at Spruce Peak. Registration begins at 8 a.m., Pond Skim begins at 12 p.m.

April 1, 2017 – 9th Annual Winter Brewers Festival at Mount Snow Resort
The legendary brewers festival series at Mount Snow continues with their 9th Annual Winter version. A one-day celebration of springtime, beer and live music!

April 2, 2017 – Bud Light Glade-iator Competition at Mount Snow Resort
The Glade-iator competition is a mogul skiing contest on the soft bumps of the legendary Ripcord, one of the steepest trails in the east. Competitors will show off their bump and jump skills and will be judged on a combination of time, form, line and aerial maneuvers off one of the two jumps (option of small or large). This is also one of the best spectator events of the year, complete with sun, snow and a cash BBQ & Bud Light bar.

April 7, 2017 – Vertical Challenge Finals at Jay Peak Resort
Join Jay Peak for their second annual Jay Peak: Vertical Challenge Finals on Tramside.

April 7-8, 2017 – Minus Zero at Stratton Mountain Resort 
Don’t miss the party of the season at Stratton. The two-day electronic dance music festival, Minus Zero, takes over the base area April 9-10 featuring headline performers Bassnectar, GRiZ and many more on the base and summit stages.

April 8, 2017 – End of Season Park Event at Bolton Valley
Hit the slopes with the Bolton Valley parks crew for a special end of season event. They’ll be making a day of it and having fun with whatever snow is left!

April 8, 2017 – Pond Skimming at Sugarbush Resort
Join in on one of the oldest pond skimming events in the country with prizes awarded for best costume, style and splash.

April 8, 2017 – Nor’Beaster: Dos Equis Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge at Killington Resort
This annual competition will heat up again on Saturday, April 8 as amateur bumpers take to the slopes of Outer Limits to battle for a place in the finals. The top 32 men and 16 women will compete in a head-to-head competition for the mogul challenge cup.

April 8, 2017 – Ski Vermont Specialty Food Day at Stowe Mountain Resort
Get a taste of Vermont slopeside on Saturday, April 8 with free food and beverage samples from local businesses big and small like Cabot Cheese, Ben and Jerry’s, Woodchuck Cider, Mad River Distillers, Karen’s Artisan Popcorn and more!

April 8, 2017 – Slush Cup & Splash for Cash
Costume-clad competitors skim across an 80-foot long, man-made slush pond in the Jackson Gore Base Area, without falling in. Prizes will be awarded based on the overall impression of style, costume and craziest run, with additional prizes for best costume and best wipe out!

April 8, 2017 – 6th Annual Pond Skimming at Smugglers’ Notch Resort
Elvis, a gorilla, guys in bikinis — you'll see it all in the Zone Terrain Park during pond skimming. Registration for this free event starts at 10:00 a.m. in the Madonna/Sterling Base Lodge and the first skimmer launches toward the pond at 12:00 noon. Prizes awarded for best costume. A "don't miss" for spectators!

April 8-9, 2017 – Annual Sugar Slalom at Stowe Mountain Resort
The Stowe Sugar Slalom is one of the most recognized alpine races in America. Held annually since 1940, the two-day event can attract over 1,000 avid racers and up to 600 spectators.

April 15, 2017 – Pond Skimming at Jay Peak Resort
A classic season-ender. Think you’re brave enough to take the plunge? Come get wet and wild at this year’s pond skimming. Costumes are encouraged.

April 15, 2017 – Nor’Beaster: Pond Skimming at Killington Resort
Registration for Pond Skimming will open at 9:00 a.m. at the Roaring Brook Umbrella Bars. The entry fee is $10 (cash or check only). There will be no pre-registration for this event. This event is open to both skiers and snowboarders and is limited to the first 100 registrants.

April 15-16, 2017 – Easter Weekend Fun at Smugglers’ Notch Resort
Don’t miss out on a hopping good time at Smugglers’ Notch. Join them for fun Easter activities for all ages on Saturday and then Sunday for their Easter Summit Sunrise Service.

April 16, 2017 – Easter Brunch at Burke Mountain
Celebrate Easter Brunch at Burke with a delicious brunch buffet at Willoughby's Restaurant at the Burke Hotel on Sunday, April 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Fare includes everything from smoked salmon to eggs benedict to honey glazed ham to a carving station. $20/adult, $10/kids under 12 years old. April 16, 2017 – Easter Celebration at Sugarbush Resort
Celebrate Easter at Sugarbush with a brunch at Timbers Restaurant, an Easter egg hunt around the mountain, and a sunrise Easter service at Allyn’s Lodge.

April 16, 2017 – Easter Sunrise Service and Egg Hunt at Stowe Mountain Resort
Join fellow early risers atop Mt. Mansfield for a non-denominational Easter Sunrise Service provided by the Stowe Community Church. A complimentary Mountain Gondola ride will operate from 4:30 a.m. – 5:30 a.m. to transport the public to the service (weather permitting). The service will begin around 6am before sunrise at 6:06 a.m.

April 22, 2017 – Stein’s Challenge at Sugarbush Resort
Try and complete as many laps as possible on Stein’s Run over the course of four hours. Spectators can enjoy the show from the bottom of Stein’s with beer, pizza and more.

April 22, 2017 – Golden Egg Hunt and Junior Egg Hunt at Okemo Mountain Resort
Children of all ages, and the young at heart -  find the Okemo Marked Golden Egg hidden on an open trail in the Clock Tower Base Area (South Ridge) and win a pair of skis or a snowboard. Other eggs will be hidden on the mountain, accessed by the A and B quads, that will contain wrapped candies and toys.  Hunt begins at 8am and continues until all eggs are found.

Okemo Mountain Resort
Okemo Mountain Resort’s Spring Skiesta Card offers unrestricted skiing and riding from March 17 through the end of the 2016/2017 winter season (typically mid-April). The cards go on sale starting March 1 and Skiesta Card pricing is for all ages, 7 and older (children 6 and younger always ski free at Okemo). The Spring Skiesta Card offers direct-to-lift convenience with no blackout dates.

Bolton Valley
Bolton Valley is offering up a great deal during April, early bird season passes for 2017-18 are on sale now through April 3rd and allow purchasers to ski and ride for free for the rest of the 2016-17 season.
