The Fall Line: Winter Weather Wonder, Take 3 Takes Off, Contest Winner's Circle

Snowmaking recommences at Smugglers' Notch Resort.

Temps Dipped, Triggers Flipped
Our dances, prayers and wishes came true last night as snow guns lit up mountain trails across the state. Trigger happy snowmakers were ready to roll – out the hoses – just as soon as the temperatures dropped into the snow zone. With their help on the colder evenings, coverage on the trails is being refreshed. The snowguns are ablaze again during these chilly nights and snow is forecasted for this weekend so it will look like winter again in time for Christmas week with the stage set for us to enjoy more spring conditions on the holiday. Some resorts have moved their season starts due to Mother Nature’s curveball, but we will turn that curve into a snowball. Find out what the change in weather means for trail counts and open acreage at Vermont resorts at skivermont.com/conditions.

A sign that winter is on it's way this week at Mad River Glen and Sugarbush Resort.

While the weather may be acting naughty, resorts are treating guests to a whole stash of events lined up for the holidays to keep you entertained, full and happy whether or not you’ve been naughty or nice this year. Take a look at the whole line up of events at resorts across Vermont.

Take 3 for $129
Get ‘em while they’re hot! The Take 3 pass is a new program available this year to help beginner skiers and snowboarders develop the skills they need to learn a new sport this season. The pass can be redeemed at one, two or three different resorts throughout the season. Each pass includes use of rental equipment for the day, a lesson with a professional instructor and lift access to beginner terrain. This package deal is only $129 and we have a very limited quantity available, so make sure to buy your Take 3 pass today. One lucky participant in the program will also win a new pair of Rossignol skis, or a Burton snowboard to help them continue their new found love of sliding on snow.

Winner's Circle
The inaugural contest of the season, Rossignol’s “Experience More at Stowe,” had more than 11,000 entries from folks who visited us at the Snow Sun and Travel Expo in Connecticut, the Boston Ski and Snowboard Expo and right here at skivermont.com. We’re happy to announce the winner is Bret F. from Deale, Maryland. He and his wife, Jennifer are getting stoked to visit Stowe Mountain Resort this season with their brand new Rossignol Experience 88 and Temptation 88 skis in tow.

Bret says “I grew up skiing in Maine and New Hampshire and have had the opportunity to ski at Stowe once but it was a very long time ago.” Well, Bret, we’re happy to be able to help get you back on Vermont terrain once again.

Feeling lucky? There’s still time to win big! Ski Vermont and our partners are hosting monthly drawings for more great prizes all season long. You can enter to win each month by visiting skivermont.com/contests for a chance at some stellar gear, lift tickets, ski and stay packages, and other special treats.
