Muffle the Lion's Roar with Vermont Specialty Foods: The Fall Line, 3/19/15

Views for miles on this bluebird day at Okemo Mountain Resort
may soon be obscured by more snow

March Roars On
Today may be the last official day of winter but, in Vermont, the season is far from over. The Green Mountains received up to another 12 inches of new snow this week and another storm system is slated to move through the region this weekend. Cross your fingers and toes for a refresher on Friday, then expect spring-like temperatures on Saturday, before turning back to wintery cold for the rest of the weekend and into next week. Keep up the lion-like weather, March, we want to keep winter going as long as possible and at this rate we’ll be skiing and riding into June!

Don’t forget, you can always check skivermont.com/conditions for the latest updates at all Vermont resorts in one convenient place!

Ski Vermont, Eat Vermont
Ski Vermont will be traveling with Vermont specialty food producers for two more stops on our Specialty Food Days tour. Join us at Okemo Mountain Resort this Saturday, March 21st, in the Jackson Gore courtyard and sample tasty treats from Cabot cheese, Vermont Maple producers, Kimball Brook Farm organic milks, It’s Arthur’s Fault sauces and syrups, Ambrosia chocolates and confections, and Vermont Spirits. Then next weekend we’ll be at Stratton Mountain Resort on Sunday, March 29th, to help re-fuel skiers and riders with samples of Cabot cheese, Woods maple syrup, Kimball Brook Farm organic milk, Ambrosia confections and chocolates, and Vermont Spirits. Make sure to come see us for Ski and Ride Vermont stickers and info about our annual programs. Or just to say hi before the tour ends!

Win a Year's Supply of Cabot Cheese
Cabot Creamery has released its first cookbook and the 1,200 farm families in New England and New York who own Cabot couldn't be more proud to share their own recipes, photos and stories from their farms. Recipes cover every meal from breakfast and appetizers to dinner options and come straight from the kitchens of the farm families who own Cabot, reinforcing the connection between farmers and the food they work so hard to produce.

To help launch the Cabot Creamery Cookbook, Cabot is giving away copies of the cookbook plus a year’s supply of the World’s Best Cheddar. One grand prize winner will take home their own copy of the cookbook plus a one-year supply of Cabot Cheese and 10 runners-up will win a cookbook of their own along with a Farmers' Legacy gift box full of cheese.

Enter the sweepstakes at cabotcheese.coop/cabot-cookbook for your chance to win. The contest ends on April 15th so be sure to enter soon.
