Spring is Sweet: The Fall Line, 3/12/15

Cross country skiing through the woods at Rikert Nordic Center.
Do you see any Maples in there?

Spring is Sweet
Bluebird days and fluctuating temperatures can only mean spring is right around the corner. We’ve persevered through the cold weather and over 17 feet of snowfall this winter and we’ll reap the reward of a deep base that will soon soften for a long, late season of superb spring conditions. According to Punxsutawney Phil, we only have a few more days of winter to look forward to, but it looks like Mother Nature has other plans for us. With cloud cover, snow showers, and chilly night temperatures in the forecast - plus boat loads of base - the season looks to remain strong for weeks to come. Thanks for taking our side, Ma!

Take the time now to learn some spring slang for the upcoming spring conditions. From corn to cream cheese, mashed potatoes and sugar, these terms are sure to spark an appetite. Speaking of sugar, Vermont Maple producers are also enjoying the change in weather. They’ve tapped their Sugar Maple trees and the sap has already started flowing
