Welcome to Winter: The Fall Line, 12/11/14
Jay Peak Resort 12-11-14
WELCOME TO WINTER
Winter is off to a strong start thanks to the preparation by our hard working snow makers and groomers, the 10 to 13 inches from the Thanksgiving storm and epic accumulations from this week’s Nor’easter. Winter Storm Damon already brought over 2 feet this week with more expected as it hovers over the region for a few more days. The snow out there is heavy, perfect for building up a nice base and expanding the number of trails and terrain slated to open at resorts this weekend.
This week’s storm totals:
Jay Peak Resort- 24"
Killington Resort- 28"
Mount Snow Resort- 17”
Okemo Mountain Resort- 13”
Smugglers' Notch Resort- 16”
Stowe Mountain Resort- 11-22”
Stratton Mountain Resort- 17”
Sugarbush Resort- 20”
Check skivermont.com/conditions for updates throughout the weekend.
OPEN SESAME
Speaking of expanding terrain – 4 resorts plan to open this weekend. Bolton Valley is spinning lifts tomorrow for 12 hours – the longest opening day in Vermont! Mad River Glen is also opening a day early due to the massive 16 to 31 inches of snow they've received this week. Pico Mountain and Q Burke Mountain Resort will kick off the season on Saturday, each with more than a foot of new snow. Not sure where to go? Perhaps our events listing or deals offered around the state can help point you in the right direction.
