As if a summer’s evening in Vermont weren’t magical enough already… under the baton of principal guest conductor Anthony Princiotti, the VSO conjures up a dreamscape of enchantment. The musical sorcery conjuring wizards, witches, and trolls will spirit attendees to Middle Earth – and then safely back to their picnic spread. As always, concerts conclude with the spectacular 1812 Overture, marches, and fireworks.
Lawn chairs and picnic blankets for seating are encouraged. Dining options include fresh-from-the-grill burgers, hot dogs and other barbecue favorites, with beer and wine available. Jackson Gore’s Coleman Brook Tavern features full-service dining with an al fresco seating option. In case of rain, the concert will move indoors to Okemo’s Ice House.
The Vermont Symphony Orchestra is the only professional statewide orchestra that provides live musical experiences for listeners in Vermont. It is a state-supported non-profit institution founded in 1935 and exists for the purpose of fostering and encouraging the appreciation of music in all its various forms, with emphasis on orchestral, choral and chamber music.
