Gearing Up for Vermont Alpine Adventure

The right gear can make all the difference when you're in search of alpine adventure in the Green Mountains. Vermont ski areas take great pride in offering their customers the best possible skis, snowboards and other tools of the trade for making turns and creating unforgettable experiences:

Killington Resort
Killington has the region's largest selection of top-quality equipment, all conveniently located on the mountain and serviced by our savvy staff. Ski packages include skis, boots, poles and a helmet. Snowboard packages include snowboard, boots, bindings and a helmet. Book in advance and save up to 20% off.

Pico Mountain
Pico takes great pride in offering state-of-the-art equipment that has been meticulously maintained. All of its rental shops offer Rossignol Sport skis and a selection of all-mountain Rossignol performance skis - the Rossignol Advantage 74 and Experience 74 with “rocker technology.” In addition, the shops have Elan and Rossignol Demo skis for those seeking the highest level of performance from their equipment. Looking for a snowboard? Pico hosts a fully stocked Burton ride center. Its shops also have helmets on hand, included at no charge for lesson participants age 17 and younger.

Stratton Mountain Resort
There is no place like Stratton Village to get expert advice along with everything to outfit every adventure. The North Face Summit Shop debuts FutureLight, the breathable, waterproof revolution in outerwear. Among the new lines at First Run are Reima, a brand focused on helping children lead an active, outdoor lifestyle since 1944, and Kari Traa, designed by the Olympian for women in every size and shape. First Run also offers a fleet of demo skis, adding Armada to the line, and expert bootfitting slopeside. The Burton Shop at Stratton features the largest selection outside the factory. All new rental gear, in sport, performance and premier models, is available at Village Rentals and the Rossignol Experience Center, including helmets, free overnight storage and a chance to switch gear throughout the day, even from skis to snowboard.

Suicide Six Ski Area
The Suicide Six Ski Shop offers convenient Friday Aprés Ski rental fittings by appointment, to start your weekend on the right track. With ski rental packages from ELAN, your comfort comes first! HEAD snowboards and boots, along with helmets from GIRO round out the rental offerings. We also have a repair area where we offer custom tuning for snowboards and skis.

Mount Snow Resort
Midnight Express, which give guests the opportunity to pick up rental equipment and lift tickets on Friday nights to get ready for Saturday morning, is back again but with a new location at Mount Snow. The Carinthia Base Lodge will be the new home for Midnight Express during peak season when the program operates.

Okemo Mountain Resort
Okemo is gearing up for winter with an additional retail location at the Jackson Gore base area plus new lines of gear in its retail shops. A new shop under the stone archway at Jackson Gore features Okemo logo’d items and assorted necessities and sundries for the convenience of Jackson Gore Inn guests. At Okemo’s Snowsports Shop and Mountain Outfitters, some new soft-goods brands are making their debut: The North Face, Alps & Meters, Alp-n-Roc, among others. And a dozen hard-goods brands include: Atomic, Salomon, Head, and more. In the rental shops, skiers and riders will find a revamped fleet of new rental skis, a new high-performance skis and a new tuning machine at the Clock Tower base area repair shop.

Bolton Valley Resort
The Big Rock Mountain Shop at Bolton Valley features everything you need to get going down – or up - the hill and get comfortable after!  Choose from a selection of performance outerwear, base and mid-layers, and plenty of Bolton Valley branded gear.  There’s a full selection of alpine and touring skis, snowboards and splitboards, boots, and bindings!  

Local products from Runamok Maple, Danforth pewter, Darn Tough, and VT Teddy Bear are up for grabs alongside BV and Raised VT t-shirts.  Also, Check out the Phoenix Book Nook—Bolton Valley’s exclusive partnership with Phoenix books—for some relaxing reading material.

Bromley Mountain
The Bromley Rental Shop offers the latest in ski, snowboard and even tele gear. The rental fleet is fully equipped with Burton LTR snowboards, standard HEAD BYS Skis, Rossignol Rails, Head Ambition Pros, high-end Rossignol Experience 84’s and Head Kore 93’s, Ski Magazine’s preseason pick the last two years. Our equipment is hand selected with comfort, performance and experience in mind ensuring you an excellent day on the slopes. Plus, Potter Brothers Ski & Snowboard Shop, located in the Base Lodge, will be adding Black Crows and Stockli to their extensive demo fleet for the 2019-20 season. These additions will help compliment the other amazing demo options: Volkl, Blizzard, Rossignol, Atomic and Head.

Magic Mountain
Magic’s Red Line Rental & Tuning shop has been upgraded under new owners with the latest ski and snowboard gear. It’s is also one of the first ski areas to offer Alpine Touring gear for rental with Saloman’s QST line. Plus, there’s nothing more important than continually tuning your ski throughout the season to get the best performance, and Red Line’s expert tuning staff and equipment will keep your skiing and riding sharp. And, it’s all surprisingly affordable.

Stowe Mountain Resort
Whether you’re in town, on Mountain Road or on the mountain itself, Stowe’s retails shops and luxury boutiques have it all, with products ranging from cutting edge ski gear to local artisan made crafts and more. At the mountain, check out The First Alpine Chair Co. First Chair is a unique specialty shop that features active outerwear from brands such as Bogner, KJUS and more as well locally crafted products, books and jewelry.

Smugglers’ Notch Resort
Smugglers’ award-winningSnow Sport University now offers a lesson product that not only offers pointers on improving technique but snow sense too … the kind of skills typically learned through years of experience. The Pro Private Equipped is designed to integrate your pace of skill-building to the terrain challenges of the mountain. Furthermore, demo equipment is hand-selected for the terrain and conditions of the day, under the mindful direction of professional guides. Not only are skills taught, but also knowledge of equipment, reading terrain, and seeking the best conditions the mountain has to offer, which can sometimes change by the hour!
