In case early season powder isn’t enough to entice visitors to Vermont’s slopes,  resorts have prepared a slew of events and deals to get skiers and snowboarders to the hill this December. Start off the holiday season with wine and beer tastings, concerts, demo days, discounted vacation packages, learn-to-turn programs and more.

December 2-13, 2017- December Wine Tasting Series at Trapp Family Lodge
Throughout December try a series of different wines at the Trapp Family Lodge from Argentine Malbecs on December 2, to Chardonnays from Five countries on December 6, Oregon Pinot Noirs on December 9, to finally, Chilean Reds on December 13.

December 3, 2017- Okemo Cares & Shares Food Drive at Okemo Mountain Resort
When skiers and snowboarders donate at least five non-perishable food items, a new children’s toy or new clothing item, they receive a coupon for a $39 lift ticket that same day.

December 8, 2017- Ski-QX Winter Music Festival at Stratton Mountain Resort
Stratton Mountain Resort and WEQX are partnering to bring the first ever alternative rock music festival to Stratton in an effort to properly kick off the season!

December 9, 2017- Annual Season Pass Holder’s Party at Jay Peak Resort
It’s simple, pass holders are the glue of Jay Peak, and they want to show their thanks for those who brandish their badges all season long. For those who are new this year, Jay Peak throws a party for all season pass holders' complete with complimentary drinks, appetizers and live music. Don't forget to bring your valid season pass so they know you're not fooling anyone.

December 9, 2017- Rails 2 Riches at Killington Resort
Skiers and riders from across the globe will gather at Killington and lay it all on the line in hopes of winning a piece of the $25,000 purse. Rails 2 Riches is the largest and most lucrative rail jam event in the East.

December 9, 2017-  23rd Annual BrewFest Part 1 at Smugglers’ Notch Resort
BrewFest highlights some of the state's excellent breweries plus regional favorites and craft ciders. Enjoy samples from Sam Adams, Angry Orchard Cider and Truly Spiked and Sparkling. If your tastes run closer to home, don't miss samples from Vermont's own Magic Hat, Otter Creek, Shed, Boyden Valley and Long Trail. A DJ will be spinning tunes while the Mountain Grille puts on a tasty appetizer buffet from 6-10 pm in the Meeting House. Tickets are available at the door; $20 entry includes 8 samples, munchies and a souvenir sampling glass. 21 & older.

December 11, 2017- Test Fest at Killington Resort
Test out the latest ski and snowboard gear at the free 2-day on-snow demo event. It's going to be a party with on-snow demoing and an Outside TV and Monster Energy after party at the Wobbly Barn. The on-snow demo event is free and open to the public and will feature premiere snow sports brands showcasing the best gear for the 2017-18 season.

December 12, 2017- Founder’s Day at Mount Snow Resort
Mount Snow has one of the most colorful and interesting resort history’s in the ski industry thanks in large part to their visionary founder and National Ski Areas Association Hall of Fame member, Walter Schoenknecht. To celebrate this great history, they have decided that December 12, Mount Snow’s birthday, will be known as Founders Day. As part of the celebration, lift tickets are on sale for just $12

December 16, 2017- Sugarbash at Sugarbush Resort
It's time to get down and get funky at Sugarbush's annual birthday celebration. Start the evening off right at Castlerock Pub for drinks and appetizers and then dance your heart out to live music.

December 16, 2017- Vertical Challenge and December Demo at Okemo Mountain Resort
The third Saturday in December is full of fun at Okemo Mountain Resort. Okemo kicks off the season of the popular eastern race series the Vertical Challenge. The free, fun race on Okemo’s Bull Run is open to all ages and abilities. Don’t want to race but want to try out new gear? Test-drive the latest ski and snowboard equipment for free at the Jackson Gore base area. Registration is scheduled from 8 am-1 pm. A credit card is required and snowboarders must provide their own bindings.

December 16, 2017- Spirits of the Season at Stratton Mountain Resort
Mark your calendars for the premier Spirits of the Season celebration at Stratton Mountain on Saturday, December 16 from 4-7 pm. Sample some of Vermont’s winter brews from 14th Star, Goodwater, Von Trapp, Citizen Cider and Otter Creek and enjoy signature spirits. Try them all in the Upper East and West Wing with live music from The Audiostars next door in Grizzly’s. The 10 tasting-ticket pack is available for $25 in advance; $30 at the door. Additional tickets will be available at the event.

December 16, 2017- Demo Day at Mount Snow Resort
Come try out this year's newest skis on snow for free at Mount Snow from 8 am-1:30 pm.  Simply head over to the Cape House Demo Center (located behind the Waffle Cabin on Main St) to sign up, and then test out as many pairs as you'd like from the representatives located on snow in front of the Bluebird Express. All that is needed to signup is a credit card and a valid driver's license.

Deals

Bromley Mountain Resort
Purchase the Sun Mountain Card and your first lift ticket is free. This discount card virtually pays for itself the moment you buy it.  Present the Sun Mountain Card to the Ticket Office upon your visit and save $30 off Monday through Friday, $20 off Saturday through Sunday (non-holidays) and $10 off on holidays. Purchase before December 15th and save an additional $10 on the Sun Mountain Card. 

Killington Resort
Killington offers visitors many ways to save this season with their in advance online savings, Bring a Friend, Ski Free program to their 4 Day Discovery Program for Adult First Timers. Their innovative 4-day Discovery Program for adults includes a two-hour lesson, rental equipment and a lift ticket each day, all for just $399 for the Elan ski program or the Burton snowboard program. Learn on Elan skis and Burton snowboards, and receive brand new versions of these skis and boards mounted with bindings prior to completing the fourth lesson (MSRP $575).

Mount Snow Resort
Mount Snow lift tickets are now on sale with incredible savings for the 2017-18 ski season when you purchase in advance. But hurry, prices increase as more tickets are sold. 

Okemo Mountain Resort
Enjoy time together with family and friends, fewer skiers on the mountain and real savings that will stretch your vacation dollar even further with the Festival of Lights Lodging Savings Package. Save more than 50% off regular season pricing. Simply visit Okemo for three nights or more, with arrival on, or after, December 10 and departure by December 22. This package includes a $100 resort credit for use at any of the resort outlets during your stay. This is a limited time offer which is subject to availability, is valid only on new reservations, and may not be combined with other offers. 

Stowe Mountain Resort
Save 30% on lift tickets to Stowe by purchasing at least 48 hours in advance online.

Stratton Mountain Resort
Save big at Stratton with their One Nighter deal where visitors spending one night and two days on the slopes [SW1] can access rates starting at $238 for two people. Want to spend the holidays slopeside? Take advantage of Stratton’s Holiday Getaway Package, three nights of lodging, four day tickets and access to the training and fitness center for one very discounted price.

Sugarbush Resort
The Pillow Four Pack is four nights of pre-packaged midweek, non-holiday lodging at Sugarbush Inn. You can use all four nights consecutively, or you can split them up and use them when you want during the 2017/18 winter season. See a powder day coming? Book a night. Legs turned into Jell-O? You’ve got a place to crash. Continental breakfast and Health & Recreation Center access included. The Inn is located conveniently on the Mad Bus Shuttle Route.
